You should consistently be learning a new editing skill whether it's through practice, or a editing tutorial, or even by mistake. A great way to find a new editing skill is youtube or even google. Just type "How do I [blank] with [black software]," and I bet you will at least find one person who is helpful enough to teach you whatever you wanted to learn or you may just learn a whole new skill you didn't even know you could do either way tutorials are always helpful in one way or another.
Find a few app tutorials here or here or more tutorials on my youtube playlists here.
Learn you editing software. Study your editing software. Love your editing software. Once you learn all the ins and outs of your editing software. If you know your editing software you know what you could do and cannot do, and once you know those things I am sure you will be able to make some nice edits whether they are limited or not.
Editing Tip Number Three:
Alignment. Whether it's text alignment or whatever. Alignment will always make your edit look a lot nicer then not.
Editing Tip Number Four:
Lock Aspect Ratio. If your software has the Aspect Ratio tool. Use it! This helps your images to not loose their original proportions, and this allows your images to not look stretched out, and messed up. The Aspect lock tool normally looks like a lock. Whenever the lock is unlock your images or even text may get stretched out if you are not careful. If the lock is locked. Then the images or text will keep the same proportions no matter what you do to the image or text.
Editing Tip Number Five:
Don't over edit. Keeping an edit simpler then not may be better then over doing it. So try not to over filter or over do anything, unless your feel that the extra editing is only helping your edit, and mean while you love your edit the way it is then go for it, but just remember keeping it simple keeps the edit look clean, and neat.
